To officially welcome the new set of officers and members, Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers-Mapúa Student Unit (PSME-MITSU) held its annual Induction Ceremony at Max’s Restaurant Intramuros last October 9.

The newly inaugurated officers pledged to fulfill their roles towards the improvement of the organization. In front of PSME Manila Host Chapter’s (MHC) President Engr. Rodesendo Moreno Jr., the student leaders promised to exert huge amount of time and effort to uphold PSME’s great legacy.

“It has been an honor to officially become the President of such organization,” PSME-MITSU’s incumbent president Mark Puen stated. “We all know that there will be great challenges ahead of us, but I believe that through cooperation of the whole staff, we can steer PSME towards greater seas.”

Apart from Engr. Rodesendo Moreno Jr., PSME MHC secretary Edna Palaylay attended the Induction Ceremony. From Mapua’s side, Engr. Sublime Carvajal and Engr. Jovvin Hermogino witnessed the unfolding of fresh MITSU executives.

Engr. Carvajal also acquainted the new members on what the organization is, and what activities are in store for them this year. The Mapua Mechanical Engineering professor enlightened the audience that joining PSME is something the students will never regret.

Apart from the formal ceremony, a simple feast is conducted, much to the delight of the attendees. To entertain the crowd, Mechanical Engineering students Jen Lorico and Ariel Cruz performed a song number before the heartwarming dinner.

With the outcome of the Induction, former PSME-MITSU President Mylene Ramoy is proud for the new set of officers. “In the way, they organized this occasion; I can feel that the organization lies in good hands this year. May they continue their great performance till end of their tenure.
