The seminar, which occurred on December 1, 2016 at the MIT Seminar room, was led and hosted by Mr. Erick Chua, CEO and Co-Founder of Shapecloud, who was generous enough to give us his time despite his very busy schedule. The seminar consisted of not only series of talks tackling introduction to 3D printing and several case studies, it also included a workshop regarding basic 3D designing. Included in the said seminar was a live demonstration of how 3D printing works, as well the tutorial of how to use different tools that can aid one’s 3D design.

The 3D printing seminar was an initiative of PSME-MITSU of further making new technology more available to its members, this was in lieu with PSME-MITSU’s mission to continuously provide services that would further contribute to its members’ growth. Through negotiations, PSME-MITSU was also able to acquire an agreement with Shapecloud wherein all of its members are entitled to get discounts on all services of Shapecloud. This was PSME-MITSU’s way of thanking all of its members for their continuous support to the organization, and also a way of encouraging future engineers to engage in more unique, creative and challenging research by broadening their horizons and making services such as this one more accessible to them.
